We are so delighted for Tina. She has been at Sambrook House for over 25 years, she is our Housekeeper, a qualified carer, and acting Senior and a relief cook, who has phenomenal stamina and patience and who is a ‘natural’ carer’.

Tina Higginson said ‘I am so proud and humbled to get this award. I didn’t know I had been nominated so thank you to Neil and Gill for this recognition. I absolutely love care, you meet some amazing people and I get a real buzz at the end of the day knowing I’ve made someone’s day better! We are a great team her at Sambrook House and I’ve had the most wonderful reactions from my colleagues, the residents and families and friends and family, an even people I don’t know!’

Tina is well loved by our residents, families and indeed staff, as she is the first to help out if someone needs time off work. Outside of work she organises collections for special occasions and she always attends days out. From a management point of view she is an absolute delight as she will always put herself forward to help, and as Housekeeper she keeps everyone in check with her very high standards.

Gill Gannon, our Care Manager said ‘I am so delighted for Tina, as are all her colleagues and friends, she totally deserves this award and it is lovely that the Directors of The Carer Magazine agreed’

Tina has won a luxury 2 night break for two at any of around 300 hotels, and has decided that she and her husband, Andrew will spend it in Liverpool – a city they have never visited.

We are so proud of Tina, and equally proud to be able to present a good news story for the local care community.

Our thanks also go to The Carer Magazine for agreeing with us that Tina is one of Shropshire’s finest!
