Meet some of the team at Sambrook House

Neil Robson

Neil Robson

Owner/ Director (M.D.)

My name is Neil Robson, and my wife (Sue) and I bought Sambrook House Residential Care Home on April 6th 2005.

I have an Engineering Degree from the University of Surrey and a post graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Portsmouth University.’

I spent a little over 20 years working in industry, starting my career in design engineering and around 1990 moved into the emerging world of computing – firstly designing test rigs , then dealing with company statistics and marketing. My last position, based in Portsmouth, saw me responsible for the finance systems across the whole of Europe for a multinational company, which gave me valuable managerial and project management experience, delivering multi million pound systems on time and to budget.

My ‘hobbies’ are many and varied but have always included ‘DIY’. Having ‘rebuilt’ and redecorated several houses, I see Sambrook House as my biggest ‘project’ yet I love being around people (particularly the older generation who have fascinating life stories to tell) and so coming into the care market was a natural career development.

Though I have no ‘care’ qualifications (I leave that to the Gill and her team of professionals), I am very ‘caring’ and derive great pleasure from seeing the joy and contentment on the faces of our residents.

Within the locality I sit on the Focus Group for Shropshire Partners in Care (SPIC) and I am also a local Parish Councillor and Chair of the local Village Hall Committee within Sambrook

I take great pride in what we have achieved in Sambrook House and enjoy the challenges it presents

Gill Burroughs

Gill Gannon

‘I am extremely proud of what we have achieved over the years, especially with our excellent inspection reports and the award that we won at the beginning of 2014.’ ‘We are blessed with an excellent and stable team of highly motivated and very well trained staff who enjoy giving care to our clients’

Mother of 2 girls and wife to Steve, Gill began her training as a student nurse, before leaving the profession for a short break. She went back into care a few years later where she has spent the next 11 years (before joining Sambrook House), working her way up to management positions.

She holds the ‘Registered Managers Award’

She has just graduated from Harper Adams university with a ‘Certificate in Higher Education for Professional Development in Management’.

She is currently studying for her level 5 Diploma in Business Management
